The Canadian Press: Senior reporter-editor in the business department of the national news agency in Toronto. Generated bylined stories daily while editing other content. Developed and wrote a widely used weekly compilation of offbeat news items. Won a company-wide editing contest. Acted informally as mentor to young staffers. Accepted an early-retirement package.
